104k. Auto 2.2 HDi. Estate. 2002. Drives OK but slow on initial acceleration but then is OK when floored. ABS is working and light is out.
I have done many searches but no definitive answers. I am unable to check error codes as the diesel does not give them
on a ODB reader until 2004 models.
Changes auto gears as it should and runs well but try as I might I can only get 39 mpg driving very carefully and a light right foot.
No smoke, and clean exhaust. No limp mode. Not checked the EOLYS level yet. So I have the SERVICE and ESP lights on permanently. The swirl
thingy/rod/arm appears to move in as soon as the engine starts at idle,
Thanks, John.
C5 2.2 Auto. ABS good. ESP and SERVICE light on.

The best thing you can do at this point is to get it onto a Lexia. The Lexia can read most PSA vehicles, and do a lot more than just read/clear error codes. Here is the list of members who own Lexia clones and are willing to help;

Thanks for supplying that list. I have PM'd a member to see if I can get the codes read.
Cheers!

39mpg is not bad for a near 15 year old car - the official consumption figures at new for the 2.2 were 28.8 Urban, 52.3 Extra Urban (if you say so!), and 40.4 combined. I only get 42 mpg now combined on my X7 - with a VERY light foot these days!JohnT wrote:104k. Auto 2.2 HDi. Thanks, John.
The Lexia will easily read the fault codes for the Service / ESP errors. You may have a blocked EGR valve which needs cleaning. Anti pollution faults can cause ESP errors, but you'll have a better idea once the codes are read.
