Lost count on how many calipers I have had due to the handbrake levers siezing. Last set are 14 months old and feels like there sticking again (will check tomorrow) as the lever has gone floppy.
Will get it on the ramp tomorrow at work and have ago at freeing it off until next time.
Had anyone done a mod like adding extra springs etc....?

When I was doing a bit of work on my C5 (needing the use of a 4 post lift) somebody there (who runs a Citroen specialist garage) offered a bit of advise (which helped). I mentioned the guide tube problem, which he was well aware of, and he said that his team made their own guide tubes from copper, which sounds like a good idea.

The guide tubes are ok its the calipers that keep sticking. Going to get some plus gas as it seems to be good stuff according to a quick google.

I freed mine off about 6 weeks ago on o/s. My cables and tubes are ok. Used plus gas and wiggled it with mole grips IIRC. Once I got movement I packed some grease behind the rubber gromet. Check your plate still has the spline in it for the shaft. I am going to free this again before the mot.

The hand brake pinion coming out of the caliper. It is a splined male and goes into a female hole in the steel plate. It can wear and you are not getting cable movement because pinion is just free spinning in the worn hole.
