C5 X7 Rising and Falling time!

Post by oli_25_uk »

Hey People,

Quick question, I'm thinking about getting a 10 plate C5 exclusive... I Test Drove it and I rides well, changes smoothly and apparently at least the steering rack doesn't leak... one thing though, it's v slow raising and lowering itself when you push the buttons by the gearbox. How long should an x7 take from lowest to normal height?

It is slower than the earlier cars I would agree.

The X7 is surprisingly slow to change it's height, nothing to worry about.

Probably something to do with the different suspension that the X7 has. Double wishbone front and multilink rear might be more complicated to add rams to.

So, just back in from the car going up and down like a yo-yo all in the name of FCF member science:
Results:
  • From NORMAL to LOWEST: 20 Seconds
  • From LOWEST to HIGHEST: 1.05 Minutes
  • From HIGHEST to LOWEST: 33 Seconds
  • From LOWEST to HIGHEST second test: 1.02 Minutes

Oli, I have amended your Thread Title to read 'X7' instead of 'c7' to avoid confusion.
