I'm sure there must be some reasonably priced new Citroen parts, but.....
The driver's seat-base bolster on my Exclusive Tourer has 'collapsed', the foam's all crumbly under the leather and offers no support at all. The seat design is pretty poor really - every time you get in or out of the car, the right-hand bolster gets sat on, so it was always bound to give up eventually. Anyway, I've contacted loads of trim specialists, and not one has said anything but 'nah, can't help mate, the cover's bonded to the foam, you need a new one'.
So, I've just phoned the local Citroen dealer. £800....plus VAT for a seat base cover!! Holy ****!

Re: Parts prices.
Seat parts are always expensive from what I can see.
I looked into supply of some new covers for the seats in one of my preludes and you were talking similar money (ok a bit chearper £500 for a seat base, £480 for a base cover in cloth etc.)
I'm surprised that a decent after market trimming company can't help you though?

Not too far from you is this company, they do mainly classic cars but also offer work on some modern stuff if you have patterns.

Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

Thanks for that, I'd not spotted them before. I've dropped them an email with a photo and description of the problem.Gibbo2286 wrote:Not too far from you is this company, they do mainly classic cars but also offer work on some modern stuff if you have patterns.

Re: Parts prices.
Just a thought.
Before you spend £800, you could try removing the cover yourself, scoop out the degraded foam taking care not to get too close to the facing, and then fill the gap with a carefully cut chunk of upholstery foam shaved to shape with a carving knife. Maybe some spray adhesive to hold new block in place. If you google upholstery foam you will find several mail order small quantity suppliers including the aptly named foamshop.co.uk (never used them but look to have a huge range)
You can't make it like new, but you might be able to make it very good.
