Berlingo Multispace Wheels and tyres

Unread post by Glynfr »

I have just bought a 2010 Berling Multispace XTR from a friend who is returning to the UK. It only has 42000km on the clock so I will probably have it for a few years.
I would like to fit the widest tyres and suitable alloys since it only has steel rims.
The current tyres are 215-55-R16. I have been on the TOYO tyres website and they say you can fit 225-55-R16 or even 235-60-R16 (Notice the change from 55 to 60).
Please help me with the technical side of this dilemma and even recommend a supplier of the assembled alloy and tyre sets. France or UK supplier.
Oh! I am retired now so please don't recommend hugely expensive sets. There are Michelins on the vehicle which are nearly worn out. I thought the TOYO tyres were a good compromise but I am willing to listen to the experts.

There may be people on this forum who will be able to help you, but there is also a specialist Berlingo Forum where you might get more answers. They have a Tuning and Styling section which talks about wheels.

This may help you as it will give you an idea of what the tyres will look like on the rims, it also lists any speedo inaccuracies.

The lower the profile of the tyre the stiffer the tyre will be so you will feel the bumps more.
