Citroen C5 2001 2Lt HDI - Body Control Unit

Post by Jeff »

Hi
Can anyone help save my Citroen that experts say cannot be fixed unless a new or donor Body Control Unit can be fitted..(uneconomic to repair).
Car would not fire when turned over in supermarket carpark and orange key symbol was showing...wipers were going on the intermittent setting....I replaced key fob batteries but that did not work.
Auto electrician tried with code reader and thought it was the transponder / aerial not reading the key fob then later got guy all the garages call when they struggle and he diagnosed the body control unit.
I tried the BIS ritual to no avail.....any suggestions please?
Many thanks
Jeff

It might be worth reseating the fuses and connectors first to rule out a bad connection or loose wire if you already haven't done so.

The wipers coming on by themselves to intermittent suggests that the BSI & com2000 are not talking to each other. There can be a few reasons for this including failure of the BSI or com2000 unit itself. We need to know what has been checked. I would tackle this first by getting Lexia on it & see what control units it talks to & what it doesent talk to.
I assume the battery is good, a BSI reset has been tried & that all the fuses have been checked & are good.
