Xantia relay on heater fan circuit. Where?

Unread post by JohnW »

Does anyone have a diagram showing exactly which circuit had a relay as a Citroen modification on early Xantias to preserve the ignition switch. I'm getting that hot plastic smell again and can't get a straight answer about where to put a relay. I know there was a Citroen service bulletin or advice, but can't get hold of the specific information and want to do it right!
Thanks

Don't have a diagram but one of our Members, Thomas commented as follows in regard to this problem:
"I have had problem with heater fan & hrw inop. today removed fuse box found white wire between ignition switch brown connector & fuse box brown connector had poor conductivity 12v at fusebox 3v at ignition switch. replaced cable now all ok climate control etc all working"
This may give you an idea where to start.

The relay uses the same cables from the battery and to the blower motor so if the wiring is overheating a relay wouldn't effect this - only protect the switch.
see my post a couple of days ago, I tried to explain the general wiring, give me a shout if all is not clear !!

Thanks - I'll go and look for your posting. It's protecting the ignition switch that I'm concerned about.
No-one apparently knows of a Citroen official note on this??
