Activa

Unread post by jgra1 »

Hi all.. i was lucky enough to do my annual pilgrimage to wiscombe park last weekend to watch a friend race an old a35 with a nicely tuned 1275gt engine...
Also running was an mg tf like mine mostly .. both did well although the a35 won that class!
I got to thinking ... have only ever seen 1 (stickyfingers) and never been in one... would an activa make a good hillclimb car? Or would this be sacrieledge (spelling)
Being a 2 litre would put it in a high class..

to heavy really, you would need to do a massive weight saving project on it.

You'd be better off in a BX 'Valver' John...

They're just a biscuit tin with an engine in it..

A Pug 205 would be even better ;)

You could always try filling it with helium. That way you not only make it a bit lighter, you get to talk like Joe Pasquale!

John, yes, there was a BX 4X4 but it would not be suitable as the transfer box was very weak and broke for a pastime... On a competitive hillclimb it might last for one perhaps...

I'll be likely down that Saturday John but rarely on a Sunday now and I've likely made my very last visit to Langport. Soon I expect I'll have no further reason to travel to Somerset at all except perhaps to visit StickyFinger...

I take it the Henlade show is organised by the local classic car dealer there?

I quite fancy doing some hillclimbs on my bike...
