Citroen Service for part No. Help please

Unread post by Bargeman »

Hi

I registered as an "Independent" on Citroen Service a couple of weeks ago, used my password and Bingo, I managed quite easily to find a part number.

Now I log on, it recorgnises me and allows me to go to "My Account" "Legal" and other places, but I cannot find how to get to Part Numbers.

The "Help" says:

"The various steps required to access the free services are as follows:

1. From any page on the website, place your cursor on the 'Free Services' tab."

What "Free Services" tab, it does not exist, just two indistinct pictures of of "Pieces Tequnique" and "Pieces/Products".

Can anyone tell me how to progress past this point. I was in the local garage two days ago to order Auto gearbox oil, the guy there (French) had the same opening page (two pictures), then pressed a couple of keys at lightning strokes and Hay Presto the "Select your Car" page was there on screen. When I asked him what he pressed he would not tell me saying that it was for Profesionals!

Will be forever grateful

Solved - I use Google Chrome or Firefox browsers. Citroen Service does not like either.

Changed to Internet Explorer and went straight in.

I have had that same issue (with Chrome) about a year ago. IE let me straight in.
Discoved that the problem was Chrome throught I was based in one country, and Citroen had me registered with them in another.

Citroen gave me a clean bill of health at their end (they had been seeing me as Ukraine, not Spain) and I found a country error at my end too. Now AOK.

Could be a Java issue - Chrome stopped all support for Java about Sept 2015 - you can get a Java plugin for firefox - but it is hit and miss, but as you say Explorer or Edge are fine.

Thanks for the support guys, I can find my way around a computer, but am not really Technoman.

Added to that our "Best" laptop has died and I'm using a 10 year old one running XP, again not supported anymore.

Then there is the carp marina WIFI that lets about three people "on" at one time then runs out of bandwidth. Ha Oh it's a modern world we live in, a 10 year old would put me right :)

PS Blinking hot here at the moment 46C in the direct sunlight 39 in the shade. Too hot to be crawling under a car if you don't need to!

Hi Marc

"I'd swap"

We did, from Brecon, 100 yards from the end of the canal, to here floating on the River Saone and canal system. Much bigger ships, (up to 180 metres long) some load with grain here 500 miles from the Mediterranean and discharge the load in Malta.

Climate 10 degrees hotter than London in the summer 10 degrees colder in the winter, but much drier than being at the foot of The Beacons.

We still like it when we go "home" to see the family twice a year, Wales is beautiful if wet, so we get a "fix".

True, I wouldn't change it - great view from the top of the Mountain - apart from the 3 humongous wind mills (and I'm talking BIG)! :-D
