What size Nuts

Post by Billathome65 »

OK guys

Ive got the stuff needed to replace the CAT on my 2002 C3 as the nuts are under the flange of the manifold to CAT it's a little tricky trying to decide the size of socket needed to remove the nuts are they 13mm or something else as the 13mm seems a little sloppy also planning ahead what size bolts would be needed should I need to drill out the stubs?

Cheers guys.

Pretty sure they should be 13mm. A massive extension on a rachet is a given!! I'd go out with a handful of sockets though.

I'll see if servicebox lists the studs too.

Edit: Studs are M8x125 :)

If 13mm is a bit loose then try a 1/2" socket (12.7mm). And if that's too loose then try a 12mm socket.

Sockets should also be single hex; bi-hex (12 point) are too prone to slipping and rounding the nut.

Use loads of plusgas too!

Agree on the hex, it's easier to find a bi-hex but also easier to round!
