Peugeot 406 D9 Gearbox 4Hp20 Problem

Hello,
My first post here ,,,
Recently I Bought Peugeot 406, D9, XFX with faulty Gearbox, imported from Switzerland to Libya
after inspection i found that the gearbox died due to wrong oil used and the gearbox was overfilled
so I purchased used C5 4HP20 and fixed it in to my car without inspecting the Gear and final output ratios
after driving the car it has harsh gear change with bang and jerk
after searching a lot i found that i have fixed wrong gearbox but not sure
these cars are not common in Libya and it is not possible to get the same gearbox

any suggestion or help will be appreciated

If the replacement gearbox came from a car with a similar engine, then it is possible (but not guaranteed) that fitting a transmission ECU that matches the transmission could fix the problem.

ok i will check if I found the TCU from where i bought the gearbox

Have you checking well all sensor on 4HP20 ?
what about ECU of 4HP20 ? Does it work ECU of engine ? I mean there is a map between engine ECU and gearbox ECU. One model of engine ecu works with one of gearBox ecu.

Let's show a model of your engine and gearbox ecu..

We know that the transmission ECU will throw an error if the gear ratios are wrong. In the case of my old Xantia V6, the transmission was inadvertently rebuilt with a differential gear set from an HDI, and that caused similar problems, so I think that you should try and get the right gear sets. I don't know whether there are other transmission components that the ECU can detect, I suspect not.
