Help with 307 outside temp sensor please

Unread post by Pewshamblakes »

Hi,

I have a 307 and the outsude temp display shows the double dashes --.
I have stripped both wing mirrors and there is no sensor present in either.

Everything I have read about installing an outside temperature sensor refers to joining the new sensor to the existing wires, but I don't have any existing wires.

Can anyone help identify where the two wires need to go in order to fit a new sensor?

Many thanks.

Mmm, they always were there in a little bump at the bottom, they have obviously moved them.

Have you seen it working? It could be that someone has swapped a mirror with temp sensor for one without previously?

I'll have a look late and see if I can work out where it is.

Thanks, it's completely missing, I guess the mirror has been changed at some point. It has the holes in the mirror for it to go there, I just wonder where the wires attach too. Cheers

It's on the passenger mirror on mine - on the non moving part right next to the door. The parts site shows the cable heading off into the door, so I would imagine you need to strip the door down to get at the connector inside the door somewhere. New one from Pug is £40.... Cheaper on ebay - and even the genuine ones don't see to have a connector block on them: temp sensor

£40 for a thermistor sounds a lot.
Last price I heard for a C5 one from Citroen was £13.

If we knew the characteristics they are only pennies on eBay.

These are a bit cheaper - if you don't mind waiting:

Thanks all, I have seen wires disappear into the door, I suspect they are crimped into the large connector inside the passenger door, but don't know what pins they attach to, I haven't had any luck searching for wiring diagrams, was hoping someone might know what pins they are attached to!

There should be a length of twin flex coming off the loom somewhere, its only very thin stuff, connect it to the sensor, it doesn't matter which way round.
