Hand brake cables

Unread post by froggy »

Hi, just about to change hand brake cables on my S2 Xantia. my question is; are there any differences between S1 and S2. as I have changed the cables on my S1 but not my S2. Cheers Terry.

Off the top of my head the only differences are for the larger bosch calipers fitted to V6's and the like (288mm discs). Wether theres any difference between the 266 and 283 ones im not sure.

As far as the job goes it should be identical as the underpinning of the car are the same.

There is a difference in length on the L/H brake cable, depending on the gearbox fitted. I cannot recall the lengths, but I know that the cable for a Xantia with the ML5T gearbox is longer (and more difficult to get hold of). Check out CitroJims thread about replacing the clutch on Davie Activa (as the handbrake cables needed to be changed).
