Are they loose? Give them a wiggle by hand and check how attached they are at the base.

OK - Common problem on the X7. The usual culprit is the contacts on the wiper ECUs. See my post on it HERE.

The Driver's ECU controls the passenger ECU - but to be sure which one is faulty you will need to have it checked with a Lexia - it may not be the one that seems to be faulty! I had mine done £250.

Guess I'll have to give the nice guy who sorted out my tyre press problem a call again and see wassup. I am reasonably handy mechanicly wise so can I replace the duff motor. You said you had it done? Dealer or????

Yes, under extended warranty - if considering doing it yourself, you'll need to ascertain which one it is - then you'll need one of those tools to lift off the wiper armature - as these can be bu**ers to get off. If you want to tackle it yourself, let me know if you need the diagrams - just PM me with an email address - I have them here from the last couple of members who attacked the job!

Cheers Marc, pm gone. I will be sending the guy in north Cornwall with a lexia a message for help. Guess we just connect it up and troll to the wipers and see if a fault appears? then see which one....then try and remove/replace I guess.

Had to go to Plymouth for a visit, windscreen filthy, little voice said, go on try the wipers, another said, theyre f*cked you idiot, they don't fix themselves....but the first little voice won. So I flicked the arm down for a quick wipe and...........buggers worked! Back n forth, to and fro. Dayum. So on the 1/2 hr drive home was going thru what to write, started to spit, got a bit heavier and automatically put the wipers on cause they fixed themselves didn't they. One wipe, 2 wipes then...........left down, right wobbling vertically. Double and triple bugger. So obviously theres summit wrong!

This is what happens Mikal - mine started doing robotic break dancing one minute, then the right one stayed up giving a finger to oncoming traffic, which is where it stayed for a while - then whilst it was waiting to go into the dealer, it miraculously decided to go back to rest position - but once it starts doing this it's only a matter of time - I wouldn't chance it in the rain as you never know what will happen. It's a sure sign one of the ECUs is bu**ered and needs replacing.

You can get generic wiper arm removal tools - but IIRC, the chap in the other post had some problems and had to improvise a bit. To be hones, I had my windscreen replaced as it was getting really pitted and that needed the wipers removing - but didn't need the tool - they came off reasonably well if you don't bend them and try to pull evenly. They do ger a load of gubbins on the spindle - so maybe a bit penetrating oil left overnight might help.

well I've put it off for a while and now its raining I really have to get a move on and do them. My local froggy dealer, Peugot, have said 284 squid per motor and 50 an 1/2hr labour AND a charge for the diagnostics.....but to do it myself, which I am not sure I could, would be to get a lexia test done, then find out which one is ferked and then try removing it and replace with a second hand one which will cost maybe 100 quid???? Oh what to do

It's called 'progress'? Once you had wipers, with a motor plus fuse.
Now....super-duper!!, you have separate computers, duff motors........
A friend had a P 607 SCRAPPED because they couldn't fix the wipers computer!
