Hope one of you guys can help me out here - I have an oil leak on my 1.6 hdi Berlingo, 2008 model.
The leak appears to be coming from a seal or gasket where this oil cooler block bolts onto the engine immediately near / below the oil filter housing...
Can someone please illuminate me and tell me what this is called so I can get a replacement gasket
Many thanks!

Re: 1.6 hdi Oil leak
I've had a look and it looks suspiciously like the Engine Oil Water distribution chamber (No. 6 on the diagram), which is attached to the oil filter bracket (No. 4)- , with the seals shown at No. 7. As there are a myriad of versions and engine types - it would be best to post or PM me your VIN, so I can double check the part numbers for your specific vehicle, as I've just looked up a generic berlingo 1.6 here

Thank you - I agree it does look like '6' in the diagram.

OK, just checking now - it is a different part as suspected - I'll have the new diag up in a sec...Element wrote:Thank you - I agree it does look like '6' in the diagram.

Re: 1.6 hdi Oil leak
Here it is: Number 7, but as for the seal (16), looks like there are a choice of 2, depending on the diameter - so whether this seal has been replaced previously with the wrong one and hence the leak - or the right one is in place but has just perished... - Good luck

Re: 1.6 hdi Oil leak
The first diagram you put up matches the photo's I took of the location & situation; the second diagram doesn't have the rhombic plate block held by bolts and even though the VIN has led to the 2nd diagram? I think I'll have to look for the gasket seal for the former diagram. I have to change the oil & figured its a good time to address this leak. Given that the first diagram part (6) is titled 'Engine oil / water distribution chamber... I'm not looking forward to removing it & getting a load of coolant spilling out! Maybe I'll have to do a full coolant renewal at the same time... Its typical that these places are so awkward to see what's actually going on - without removing the bumper & whole front & radiator...

Re: 1.6 hdi Oil leak
Ok, I think I've found it... the whole section where the oil filter attaches to the engine block is tunneled and acts as the oil cooler:
This image shows the 2 wiggley oil seals:

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NjAwWDgwMA==/ ... nn/$_1.JPG
So the seal I want is the 'Engine Oil Filter Body Gasket' & to remove and replace it I have to drain the oil & coolant too.
Thanks for your help
