Re: radio plays but beeps
That is normal, it is a security thing. Basically because the current VIN does not match the on in the radio memory it is having a hissy fit. The way to resolve this is to hook up a Lexia system and then let the radio know it is OK for it to be in the new vehicle (I have done this, but I cannot recall where I was in the menu system).

Re: radio plays but beeps
I would NOT swap the ECUs, as they are also linked into the bus system, so may well introduce a massive can of worms into the mix. Until you get the Lexia resolved I would put up with the beeping, or look for a forum member nearby who has a Lexia and is willing to help. Here is the link to Lexia owners willing to help;

Re: radio plays but beeps
Using a Lexia you need to run the Global Test, then select the audio unit's ECU. From within this you will be able to change the VIN number of the unit to the VIN of the current vehicle. Furthermore, depending on options and features, you need to be careful as this is also where several other options are configured relating to the car. If you post up your VIN of the car it is going in I can see what options need to be configured.

"put up with the beep", lol. It's INCREDIBLY loud.
Re: radio plays but beeps
Had that on the C5, the radio thought it was stolen.
Fixed by disconnecting the battery for a while.
