As long as the donor car has standard suspension, not hydractive, the spheres will be compatible. Hydractive cars would normally be badged VSX in NZ.

VSX spheres won't be suitable for your SX as the damper valves are wrong.

Also depending on how old the car is and when its spheres were last replaced you could be buying duds anyway. Spheres can only be re-gassed if they have not been allowed to go too low in pressure. Depending on who you believe its recommended not to re-gas spheres that have fallen to below 1/2 their normal pressure or below 15 bars.

Also any long life spheres (which have three dimples in the sphere body around the filler cap at the top) should not be re-gassed. Some Xantia's in New Zealand were fitted with the long life spheres on the front suspension. (My VSX was)

Simon,
Why is this?
Do know that saucer spheres should not be, but old shape?

Already been discussed in great detail in another thread recently Chris. :)

But in short, the long life type spheres only lose significant pressure after one of the diaphragm layers has ruptured. Thus a low pressure warranting re-gassing is a fairly sure sign that the diaphragm is already failing. At that point any attempt to re-gas is not going to give any long term satisfactory result.

Thanks for the quick confirmation. I missed the earlier post about this. Have a couple of these on XM front.
