Megane 1.9Dci MAF Light

Unread post by Citroen154 »

Hi,
About 6 months ago the "Check Injection" message appeared on my daughter's 2008 Megane 1.9Dci (130Bhp).
The car was running badly and a trip to a diagnostic machine showed MAF circuit. The MAF sensor was therefore replaced with a secondhand unit from the same model and with the same part number.
The problem with the car running badly and 8,000 miles later it is still running fine.
However, any attempt to put out the fault light results in it coming back on with the same message and the same fault showing.

Do we need to get it on a dedicated Renault , or does anyone have any other ideas as to how to clear the fault or why it remains ?

Your help would be appreciated. :?: :?: :?:

I'd be tempted to say you need to scan it with the Renault tool aka "Clip" at least then you'll get the real cause out of it. It may be the same error but the real diag may reveal a bit more information.

I think 'clear codes' = 'clear codes' regardless but having said that the tool you used to read it may not be reading (hence not clearing) them all. I would suspect there may be another code (not being shown) that is throwing the light back on. 'Clip' should at least (if not clearing it) tell you what is going on.
Andy.

Thanks Spider - i suspected as much.
The car has been on 2 generic machines with the same result.

Biggest problem is finding a clip machine, all the Renault dealers seem to have closed down in our area, anyone know of a machine in or around Littleborough /Rochdale ?
