Hi all..

Im trying to sort a 307 out for MOT.. But i got the dreadded Air Bag light on.

Im getting Drivers Module Trigger Open Circuit fault.. Level 2

How likely would it be the air bag itself?? Does anyone know how i can test the comms2000 as i beleve the ribbon connector can cause issues..

Right.. Done some pin to pin tests... And i seem to be getting the two pins on each air bag plug... One green one blue are connected together.. Is this correct. ?? The ribbon from the comms to the air bag plugs however are all intact.. Just the two pins on each line are connected... But each line is not connected..

I think when its unplugged the pins will short together in the wire this is normal. Its to prevent (I'd assume) static charges, its more a safety feature if that makes sense.

If you look closely at the unplugged plug, you'll see its got a 'shorting' link. Well, some of them have.

Yes correct andy.. I cant find an issue with the ribbon... So am i thinking correctly the actual air bag is giving me my headache??

This is all I can find that's relevant (post six, can't seem to link directly to an individual post) you'll see which one as its the only one with decent ( ! ) info in it...

One other thing, do you have side bags fitted ? I'd be tempted to carefully check the wiring under the seat too, they do break on these (but not as often as the 306 did)

The lexia is specifying drivers module level two.. I guess that means the wheel one as it has two plugs going to it..

Ive been under the drivers seat and actually cut the connectors offf and joined thexwires hard join to eliminate poor connector joins like all early psa stuff always suffered with..

I read that earlyer in the week.. Ive got the comms2000 on bits infront of me now and the ribbon checks out continuity but as i said on both plugs the two pins are connected together on each plug but not to each other.. I think it is point to wheel air bag.. But im not 100% certain..

You mean they are connected together (at one end like short between the pins) but there's no continuity at the other end of the wire (the other plug/socket) ?

I think that's half normal as its the shorting pins 'effect' it may well disconnect it from the rest of the wire itself. The 'test' would be to insert some pins (not the airbag!) into the plugs to simulate it being plugged in and then check for continuity at the other end of it.

Dooing my head in now... I got hold of a 51 plate 307... Two issues, ABS and Air Bag.. Ok, lexia session later and Im informed "Drivers Module Trigger Level 2 Open Circuit" .. ok, so it must be a drivers air bag fault, I double checked the COMMS2000 and its all in good order and is already a replacment.

So I got an airbag and fitted it, cleared faults and two NEW ONES appear. Left side and Right side Air bags Open Circuit! They werent there before and wont clear... Anyone know what pins to pins I can do to check wiring etc...

Annoying Id like to get it on the road, and get it tarted up and possibly sell on.. but its getting to me now a little!

One quick check. With the battery disconnected (wait a few min as usual) unplug and plug back in (a few times) the under seat connectors as they can have issues here sometimes.

I can try to get some diagrams tomorrow, although they are not the best to follow.
