Hi , not posted for a long time but here goes.
What windows version do I need on my laptop to run the Lexia system. I have at present Windows 10 . I have had my C5 X7 for three years now and think it is time I started to find out what can and cannot be activated. My drl don't have the option of being activated and I am sure the folding mirrors could fold on lock up???????

Re: Lexia
32bit Windows XP is recommended but i've heard newer versions might run on Windows 7 too.
Official ones come ith Windows 7, or so I've heard.
There's this guy on a Finnish forum who has been working hard to get Diagbox running on a Windows 10 tablet
I myself use a Kubuntu linux PC with 32bit XP on a virtual computer. Virtualization makes it easy to revert back when you mess something up while updating. Just this week i found it useful while updating Diagbox from 7.02 to 7.76.

Everything you need to know is on the merged Lexia / Diagbox threads.renagade wrote:Hi , not posted for a long time but here goes.

It all depends on the age of your car you want to diagnose and the version of Diagbox / Lexia you want to run. Most users now run Diagbox on Windows 7, or on a Windows 7 Virtual Machine running under Windows 10 64 Bit Professional or above.
If you are going to get a Lexia - get one from a reputable seller (Easydiagnostics in the UK are used by many members and provide excellent support), next I would suggest you ask for Diagbox Version 7 - and upgrades to 7.58. Later version of Diagbox have removed funtionality (i.e. Telecoding on many vehicles) going forward, as they move to online coding. Diagbox V7.58 will work with all PSA cars produced at Nov. 2015.
Many users find buying a cheap laptop with Win 7 is a good dedicated solution as the programme itself may often require reinstalling and is really quite messy with its installtion process, putting files everywhere. Having a dedicated laptop makes it easy to restore to a previous point if needed, without risking reinstalling your whole PC or affecting your other files and programmes.

Re: Lexia
I am running my Lexia on Windows 7 Starter (32 bit), but as Diagbox starts up it clearly indicates not to upgrade to Windows 10. I am using Diagbox 7.15.

Re: Lexia
Hi James, that is true, and what I advise people, however there have been several new builds of Windows 10 since its release. Earlier builds had strictly enforced driver requirements which affected lots of hardware. In other words early builds of Windows 10 wouldn't allow third party drivers to install, which of course affected the USB Evolution driver for the Actia.
With the newer builds and these restrictions relaxed, it has made things easier, but It is hit and miss. There can also be some communication issues when working on some older cars, so for now Windows 7 is what I recommend as it is known to work and is still supported.
