I'm looking for a little help with a moderate leak from the hydraulic unit housing cover on my AM6 gearbox. It's just the gasket and it looks easy enough to remove and redo the gasket but I'm not sure about the fluid.
The service docs say AM6 gearboxes on Euro 4 engines have JWS 3309 fluid and Euro 5 engines AW-1. My car is a 2009 so I'm assuming it's a Euro 4 and will need 3309 fluid. Is there anyway to confirm this or does this sound correct? Also the fluid seems to be a clear pale yellow but I thought the fluid should look reddish or possibly black does this sound normal.
Here's a link to some image captures from the service docs.

If you put your VIN into service.citroen.com and check the build spec for your car, it will tell you whether it is euro 4 or 5.

As above. I'm pretty sure if you have a unless you have the 160bhp engine it's euro 4 and the fluid is much cheaper at Vauxhall

...and if you have got the 160bhp Euro5 jobbie then this is the best price I could find for the right stuff:

Certainly somewhat cheaper than my dealer (by about £37 per litre!)

Thanks. Turns out it's Euro 4 so it's 3309 fluid. Got some on the way from Opies.
