This seemed too easy..?? 2009 C5 X7 front brake pad renewal

I just changed the front brake pads on one side (C5 X7 2009 excl. auto). I'll do the other side tomorrow (weather ?). There are a couple of points / queries about the job - can someone please confirm / suggest etc., please?

First, I did not need to touch at all the T55 bolts, which hold the caliper carrier. It was a bit of a squeeze getting the caliper back after putting in the new pads (old ones were at 1mm and 2mm est.) but it was ok. I didn't need to disconnect the hydraulics either (axle stand held caliper up). Managed to lever the piston in with a piece of wood.

But there was something that caught me eye. A small leak on the hydraulic strut. What might this entail?

Very often C5's have a misting of dirty oil at the top of the struts which can be just cleaned off. Some MOT examiners not overly familiar with Citroen suspension mark it down as a failure. On my previous C5 I always cleaned the tops of the struts as part of my preparation. Of course, this is not to say that yours isn't an actual leak. I would clean it off then look again in a few days time.

Looks like the strut is gubbed. A non uncommon, and not unexpensive, problem on MK3s.
