Hi lads,
havent been on for ages just been mega busy with other stuff. I'm having a problem with my 03 c5 estate when turning at low speeds at full lock i get this unmerciful clunk i have replaced drop links, ball joints inner and outer tie rods, passenger side driveshaft as it was caput, replaced drivers side outer cv joint, control arm bushings left and right, as you can imagine I,m at a loss there doesn't seem to be any play in the rack but im not sure how to test it. could it be a strut bearing or something else.

Re: clunking from front when turning in driveway
Sounds as thought you have done about everything. Is it a continual clonking or clicking when on full lock or only occasional?

Re: clunking from front when turning in driveway
Hi Darren,
Assuming your C5 suspension/wishbone is similar to the Xantias. I've just replaced the front wishbones on my Xantia. I stupidly put a bit of grease on the P bit of the rearmost bush on both the wishbones to enable them to slide into position easier... with the result I get a clunk as they move about under load, no matter how tight the bolts are. I'm going to have to take them off again end remove the grease.
I'm wondering if one of your rear bolts isn't done up tight enough, resulting in the wishbone being able to move 1-2mm and create the clunk as you reach the extremity of turn? That clunk sounds deep and is, once you realise what it is, obviously a chassis noise rather than a peripheral clunk. Hope that helps.

The only other thing I can think of is the bottom ball joint.
