C5 Parking sensors

Post by paulgoodman »

I'm new to the forum but have had Citroen cars for a long time.

I have just purchased a low mileage 2007 model C5 2.2Hdi VTX+ Estate and am not sure what the exact spec should be. The handbook says it should have parking sensors front and rear (like my older Exclusive model) but they don't seem to bleep either front or back. There are certainly shapes in rear bumper which indicate they made be fitted?

Any info on standard spec for this model would be appreciated.

Welcome Paul!!

Post up, or PM me, the last 8 digits of the VIN and I'll have a look and if it came with sensors from the factory.

Thanks Richard - The last 8 of the VIN are J7L?(OR 6)817201
I think the CD Multichanger has been removed so is it possible to know the appropriate Clarion part number so I can try and locate one on Ebay?
Thanks very much,
Paul

OK, so J76817201 looks right (2.2HDi 6spd Auto MK2 Estate)

I can't find mention of parking sensors; nor a part number, so I think it wasn't factory fit. It does say 'look' pack so they may have been included as part of that.

Head unit:

6574 EX
GSM RECEIVER

It says 'Without CD' so I guess there never was a CD changer.

Thanks Richard. I will get my garage to see if sensors can be fitted and also if feasible to fit a multichanger. It has the cage under the drivers seat.

Does the CD autochanger from a 2001 Mk 1 fit? If so I have one in the car I'm breaking.

I wonder if something like this might be an option?

That one says for C5 to 2004 - not the facelift version, IIRC the CD changers betweeen the MK I and the MK II are different because of the CAN wiring differences.

I believe your system has the RT4 unit with colour Nav and the 10Gb hard drive for ripping CDs to the unit directly. I can't say for certain whether this unit has additional connections for a CD changer looking at the available diagrams.

My previous C5 MK II Exclusive 2005 had the Navidrive RT3 system and this did have a CD changer which was the Clarion (part 9647427980) unit.

Thanks everyone for your kind help.

The unit on my car is the RT4, so I think I can burn CDs to hard drive. Nonetheless, I'm old fashioned, so may try to get a multichanger as well. I too have a 2005 Exclusive C5 with cd multichanger under drivers seat but I'm sure it's not the same unit.
