Citroen C4 - Fault code p1536

Unread post by lancia58 »

Hi
My wife is a driving a Citroen C4 1.6 SX automatic ( AL4 ) . Lately from time to time the check engine is lit. Using a Lexia I found the p1536 fault code. Any one knows what can be the source for that fault

If you were using a Lexia there would be a description with the fault, not just a P number - what did it say ?

A quick Google suggests it might be "P1536 Parking Brake Switch Circuit Failure".

Does she drive it properly with one foot to do both pedals or does she drive it like a go kart & use one foot on each pedal ? I find that this fault often appears on autos when driven like a go kart, inevitably at some point the brake & accelerator pedals will be pushed at the same time & can log this fault.
Are the brake lights working as they should ?

P1536 relates to the braking system, as far as I am aware. And it depends on your engine type too - some models it's ESP, others it's parking/handbrake.
