2009 C5 2.0 hdi lack of low down power codes P2562 and P2084

Post by 11esprit »

My vehicle seems to be lacking low down power below 2000 revs and I have to keep changing down to make progress whereas before there was a good amount of torque below 2k. Once I go past 2k power seems fine and turbo kicks in with plenty of power. Mpg seems about the same as before and no smoke but the depollution faulty message comes on intermittently. I do about 600 motorway miles per week so dpf/fap should be in good condition. A quick scan comes up with codes P2562 and P2084. I believe the P2084 is the exhaust temperature sensor which could be the reason for depollution message however I am struggling to find a reason for P2562. I have checked Maf sensor, fuel filter and checked for vacuum leaks which all seem to be fine. If anyone has any ideas I will start looking at these.

Someone else will know what the codes mean but in the meantime a bit more information might be helpful.

How many miles has the car done? Has the DPF been replaced or cleaned and, if so, at what mileage? Has the Eolys fluid been topped up at all? If so, was the ECU for the fluid reset?

The mileage is approx 129k the DPF has never been replaced or cleaned according to service history. Eoloys was topped up I think when it was around 80k but not been topped in my 2 years of ownership. Does not smoke. Some forums are suggesting it could be the electro valve solenoid that goes to the turbo? or intercooler pressure switch

Then it is highly likely you will get either false/general or inaccurate codes given, PSA cars need a LEXIA system to talk to the various ECU's

Check the WIKI for the LEXIA owners map....ask a member close to you to do a reading.....normally for beer money.

Investing in a LEXIA is part of ownership with PSA cars....getting one will save you loads of $$. They cost on average £150 for a good one.

Get a Lexia on it first, but just because you do motorway miles, that doesn't meant the filter won't at some point need cleaning out / replacing.

On the X7 2.0, the filter is recommended to be checked at 120k miles. It will eventually clog, where regeneration will be impossible. The Eolys fluid should of been topped up from 65k miles on - so there are already several issues - as if according to what you have said, it hasn't had a Eolys top up or a filter check - these are likely candidates given the mileage you have done. If the Additive is low or empty, then regeneration won't occur and premature clogging will be the result. As I've said, if the filter gets too full, it will not be able perform a regeneration cycle and then the filter will likely need changing.

Now would be the time to get the additive level and the filter checked as you are possibly heading towards a worse problem if you continue to drive the car.

Low additive would throw a fault and display a message....

P25062 appears to be a boost solenoid fault; P2084 appears to be the DPF temp signal. You would need to check with Lexia what the upstream temp is. I suspect that the lack of power is more to do with the solenoid though - but the temp one might stop if regenning the filter, which will lead to all sorts of trouble in short order!

Would it be worth blanking and removing egr via software? I will also probably get the dpf cleaned as it needs doing anyway.
