Gazoline Magazine-Drawing of the Month

Unread post by NewcastleFalcon »

The French Magazine Gazoline is dedicated to la voiture ancienne which I translate as the classic car, and features each month a drawing of the month. The syle of drawing is one which I very much like...tintin-esq or more accuratley "Ligne Clair" like that of Thierry Dubois, and Jean Luc Delvaux. The drawings are usually by Francois Roussel.

This is the lastest....an Alfa GTV in the Tuscan Countryside.....

Wouldn't say no to a bit of that :)

Not a Tintin-esq Alfa, but the genuine article from Herge's Adventures of Tintin "Les Cigares du Pharaon"

The excellent site of Francois de Dardel has example drawings of all the vehicles to feature in Tintin, many paired with an image. Like this Alfa Romeo P3 1934.

This months drawing from Gazoline magazine by Francois Rousell features a Citroen Traction Avant with a "Gazogene" conversion. Link goes to the "translate this page" version which probably loses a bit in the translation :)

Fascinating. I have seen something similar done with a large diesel engine, you start it on diesel, run it at tickover and as the wood gas is introduced the revs go up and it produces power while still keeping its lubrication from the small amount of diesel injected.
