C5 1.6hdi 2005 MkII - 50 amp fuse keeps on blowing ?.

Unread post by Rochy101 »

Hello ,
This seems to be a on going problem for me every time i jack the car up to change the tyre or brakes. Sometimes It goes just by its self on my 3rd in 1.5 months.
It is the suspension fuse every time. Any Idea's welcome. Have recently changed the thermostate sensor because the fan was continually running , that seems to have sorted that out for now. :(

I would bet a few $$'s that the main pump motor is full of dust from the brushes and is shorting out.

Cheers stickyfingers.
Now let me guess this is one son of a *itch job to do, I am no novice but I am not a qualified muc-a-nic . Would I need to change the bushes once taken off or a simple air line . Thanks for your help so far

From my reading the pump is normally fubar'd at that point and needs changing unless you have good electrical skills.

Do a forum search for help on that as there are various methods, some of which only required the motor swapped over and use the existing control electronics so no coding to the car.
