new here / throttle cable tip

Hello everyone, just like to say what an excellent forum this is. Having just bought a Xantia 1.9td I noticed that the throttle cable was very frayed and decided to change it straight away before the inevitable happened. I called into local Citroen dealer (saturday morning and I need the car for work sunday)paid £32.55 for a kit of parts and was joyfully advised that I would'nt use most of what I had just paid for ! But mr Citroen had made a mistake, the kit came in a clear plastic bag. Inside I could see a white plastic clip that goes on the pedal and the inner cable attached to it, this inner cable is in fact from a bicycle, brake I think, £1.50
Just be careful when removing old cable from clip.
