Change LDS?

Post by Stekelly »

Is there a how to on level checking, draining and filling the LDS knocking about? I did the LHM on the xantia when I got it but info on doing the same for the C5 seems to be hard to find, or else I'm looking in the wrong place. Cheers.

I haven't done it but it is seemingly a worthwhile thing to do. When I do it, my plan would be to disconnect the hose at bottom of reservoir and drain that into a bucket. Fill reservoir turn ign on, and then open the nipples at rear block and front block. By the time tank drains down a bit, all the old fluid should be out. Top up with suspension on low to just under the neck of filler. Best put blocks or axle stands under sills of course.

Cheers. At the minute the plan was to make sure its actually lds thats in it and not lhm . The tank is the black one. I assume whenyou open the cap the recess with the slits all around it should fill with fluid to show level on low? It seems to be dry so im guessing it needz a top up at least

Yes, fill to the bottom of the cup at low level.

You will need to depressurize the system to check the level. If you simply lower the suspension it will look empty when in fact it's not.

Cheers folks. Whats involved in depressurising? Simple procedure or out with the jack and axle stands?

Xantias are much more user friendly :)
