BREAKING:'97 Xantia Athena (XUD diesel) hatchback

Unread post by SafariMan »

Hi,

I have an '97 Xantia Athena hatch that I am breaking for spares which include virtually BRAND NEW FRONT struts and STEERING RACK.
Anyone that knows about these cars, will know that front struts are rare AS HEN'S TEETH. Citroen charge £411 PER strut so am looking for very sensible offers for the pair. The same applies to the steering rack, which is NO LONGER available from Citroen!

The car has sound panels apart from driver's front wing which is no loner there. Please ring for details: 0-7-8-0-8 3-9-4-6-4-6 ( AFTER 11am ).

Many thanks.

Hi,
is this a Mk1 or S2 variant Car was under the impression that
Mk1 ran until 1997 and Mk2 or S2 came in in 1998.
Simon the early version doesn't have electro valves.

An Athena should have electrovalves. If I recall correctly Citroen rebadged the last of the vsx as Athena for the transition to mk2.

Fair enough I was taking reference from my Dads P-Reg VSX Mk1 which was the top of the range
for the Mk1's and it doesn't have electro valves not even a vacuum pump on the end of the cam.
however it does have a much better ride than my SX estate. with 8 spheres in the VSX.

With 8 spheres it must have electrovalves. I think you're both talking about different things. One of you is talking about turbo electro valves and the other about suspension electrovalves ..

Nope I think we are Both referring to the fuel pump low Idle speed and EGR electro valves None of which are on the Mk1 VSX as EGr hadn't been
added to the Xantia VSX by then and neither had the Vacuum pump on the end of the camshaft.
