citroen synergie 2001 hdi 2.0 slx front subframe corroded

My car failed the mot. The subframe is corroded and seriously weakened front he's marked it as dangerous.
I've had a look at it and its pretty bad. Even if I had a subframe it would cost me £300 to replace.
Everything else on the car is fine. It runs perfectly i've used for my 60 mile daily commute.
Any advice please, scrap value is about £75.
I paid 870 for it in september + new steering pump (240 fitted) its got 138k on the clock.

I'd replace the subframe and stick with the Hdi Synergie , its not done any mileage really and going newer could involve Dpf's etc .

You'll need to find someone breaking one I would guess. Depending on where it's corroded, it might be possible to weld it, I think this is allowed for subframes. I try and have a look later and see if it is fitted to anything else (and get a price - you never know, it might be OK!) to allow you to widen the search.

New ones are not available any more - which may be just as well since they were £600

There are 3 different ones, depending on age, but they may cross over. Also used on the Dispatch, and Fiat Ulysees and 806 (?) as well of course - and probably the Pug and Fiat van equivalents as well. Shouldn't be too hard to find one off a breaker, and probably only a couple of hours to fit it on a lift.

Where abouts are you?

I sold a 2000 Synergie to a guy in Selby and he was gunna break it for parts. The job itself isn't that difficult to do.
I also saw a Treg Synergie in Morley nr Leeds that was availlable for breaking, they wanted about £150 for it, might still be there.

Yours is part number 3502Y7. Unfortunately that is only fitted to cars from RP 8690 to 8851 (24/08/2000 - 01/02/2001) which narrows the range a bit! No idea whether a later one will fit or not. Gives the same date range for the dispatch as well....

its corroded both side and where the components bolt is very thin in a couple of places . i can get a pic up but it needs replacing
