Tyre sensor

Unread post by aeroboy64 »

On the way to work yesterday i pressed the i pressed the tyre pressure/fault button and all 4 tyres were o.k. then on the way home had a message saying that the left rear tyre had deflated! (it had'nt though).
I also noticed that both front tyres had very slight feathering on the outside edges so thought i'd talk it to the tyre fitter place to get the tracking checked and see about the unflat rear tyre.
Car tracking was spot on and the "right" rear tyre valve was broken as the pin was sticking out and could not be pumped up?was told by the fitter that he would fit a new valve if i supplied one as its only attached to the battery/sensor by a small allan screw and would only be charged £5.00,the weird thing is the service light has not come back on but why does the car not know left from right (might be in french mode).
The new valve has only cost me £6.00 from fleabay all in only £11.00 for peace of mind.
I noticed all the fitters use jacks on the other cars so will it be o.k. for them to do the same with the hydro suspension.
The car is an 08 c5x7 executive.

ALWAYS put the car in HIGH mode and UNSCREW the LDS tank Cap before the car is jacked up, it will then be fine

After....

It is due to possible damage to the strut seals and the danger of the LDS tank going POP !

The positioning of the tyres with faults should be accurate. Watch out for deflation warnings - I have has a few on one tyre. When I got out an looked at it I thought 'nothing wrong with it' - but when I went to check the tyre pressures, sure enough it was under by a few BAR. So I always double check now and it hasn't been wrong yet!

i had a similar problem. Thought it was a slow puncture but told it was leaking valve.
Obtained a replacement valve kit from citroen @ £4.99 once fitted no more problems.
I have since seen 'kit' costing 11.99 on ebay.
