Dispatch cam belt

Post by RPWC »

I know the milage for cam belt change on the mk1 Dispatch 1.9 d is 70,000, but what about time? It was last changed at 66,000, but there was no date on it.
When I bought the van it had 71000 on it,and i have had it almost 4 years, so is the time for change every 4 years or 5.?

80,000 miles (72,000 for early vehicles) or 10 years

When I changed the belt on daughter's Pug 306 it was very low mileage but 12 years old. When I got the old belt off, it looked like new. No cracking and still very flexible.

10 years, wow! didn't think it would be as long as that, my van is an 04 plate, and the belt had been done at 66000 according to the sticker on the cam cover, it had 71000 when I bought it 4 years ago in June, so by the looks of things I should have a good few years left before it needs changed again. Thanks Rory
