Hi All,
Newbie here - although I've been a lurker for many years and solved many problems with the info found on FCF. My 98 xantia (hdi exclusive) needs new spheres on the front and my service guy tells me they're not the same as standard xantia hdi. He says main dealer only @ almost €200 each! Ouch! I'm hoping to establish exactly what spheres are needed and hopefully source them elsewhere, cheaper. Does anyone know the spheres pressure (bar) required for an exclusive? The car has the dash switch for sport mode, so I understand it's hydractive.
Anyway, if anyone can shed some light on the problem, I'd be much obliged.

Re: sphere pressures - xantia exclusive
If you can supply your VIN and RPO then someone will look up the precise details of your car and advise on spheres.
You might also try contacting AEP Direct who have proved to be a very good source of spheres and will do their utmost to supply the correct parts - have all your vehicle details to hand when you phone them.
And welcome to the FCF

It might be useful to know where in the world you are located, in order to suggest alternative suppliers.

Thanks myglaren & xantia_v6!
I'm in Dublin and the car's VIN is: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] 72171204. (originated near Bournemouth!)
myglaren, thanks for the AEP link, it looks like they might have a what I'm looking for, once I know myself - I'm guessing hydractive II
Btw, where would I find the RPO?
Thanks again,
Paul

Re: sphere pressures - xantia exclusive
Just wanted to say thanks to all, my xantia no longer takes ramps like a speedboat!! It's running like it should, smooth as silk!
Big thumbs up to AEP Direct & their courier delivery service also - got an early morning text giving a 1 hour window for delivery and it was bang on time!
(Should add that having height controllers correctly set and a track rod replaced were part of the improvement.)
Thanks again for all the help and as Arnie says . . . . I'll be back!
Cheers,
Paul
