307 Aniti Pol fault after carpet stuck under throttle

Post by Stickyfinger »

I have been asked why a 307 would throw a Anti Pollution fault after a rubber mat got stuck under the throttle.

Any comments ?

Also....my Lexia will not read the car.....I have one with 7.02 installed

Code on the dongle/unit is 9780.Z5

I can't answer your question directly but my Berlingo throws the EML on if I hit the brake and throttle at the same time. Perhaps it's something similar?

If it's been stuck in a way that has limited the throttle use for a long time it may be that the DPF (if applicable) has become clogged and either needs to be cleaned or a manual regen performed, as the exhaust may simply not have been able to get hot enough before.

Or the same is true because a lot of gunk has built up in the turbo, manifold etc that has now been blown clear (hence the initial black cloud when you start giving a usually gently treated diesel an Italian Tuneup) - but has been caught by the DPF or cat causing much the same fault as above.

Those are the only things I can think of really...really need to get it on suitable diagnostic gear and see what fault it's showing as otherwise we're just guessing blind...and there are a thousand reasons that it could show a fault...and it might not be in any way directly linked to the floor mat incident...

Does a 03 plate 2ltr HDI 307 have a DPF ?...it is on the cusp of fitting it ?

Yep: trying to get the Lexia working to find out the faults.

reportedly, the DePol Fault came on when the throttle got stuck

Will try to connect it tomorrow with the engine running.
