Hi everyone,
I have a 206 2.0hdi 90bhp, and recently it's started to get difficult going into first gear doesn't always happen by when it plays up its very notchy going in
all other gears Seem fine I get the occasional crunch for reverse every now and again,
Cars done 108k and clutch is fine no slipping and other gears seem to be ok.
I've changed the gearbox oil using Peugeots stuff slight improvement but does still play up.
Could this be the gear selector rod ?

Re: 206 hdi difficult going into first
Hi Chris.. not sure i follow that..
When it's bad all gears are affected and first and reverse are worst.. but sometimes all gears are fine?
It does sound like an intermittent clutch issue in that case
Clutch drag as against slip

Re: 206 hdi difficult going into first
Sorry my bad, it's just first that's affected but it's very intermittent, not sure if it's related but I have a slight knocking sounds like a ball joint knocking but it's not, thinking it could be a gearbox mount? Would This affect it. Could well be a seperate issue

Re: 206 hdi difficult going into first
Will it go into gear OK without the engine running? If so it will be the clutch not fully disengaging.
