Fit a little subwoofer in a c3 without an amp?

Hi people on this forum nice to meet you all. Ok so i daily drive a c3 and need to boot space due to the kids and stuff. I am thinking about add a little 10 inch sub in the back but i don't want to turn massives wires down the car, for me personally is too much hassle and i dont want to start making cuts to the metal to fit the wires in. So i read on this http://how-to-install-car-audio-systems ... tereo.html found and it says you can connect the subwoofer directly to the back speakers and use the power from the stereo. Has this be done before is it a good idea because i have the factory radio, is this only for aftermarket stereos?

I don't know about a sub without an amp, but plenty of Citroens have a JBL one as an option. My C4 VTS has this, if you can find one being broken with this, I'm sure it would be fairly simple to install all the stuff from that into your car

I think a sub without an amp would be completely pointless, cant imagine you would get much out of it without one.
The factory JBL system needs an amp as well. If I remember right it's under the drivers seat. Don't think the C3 ever came with a premium sound system so there will be no wiring present for it so don think it will be a simple as just fitting the bits from a C4.

That article is BS. You cannot "bridge" a car stereo just like that. Better way would be to use subwoofer with dual voice coil, so you can really use both channels power to drive it. But then you still can't filter higher frequencies from the subwoofer, and can hear singing from subwoofer. No good.

That article is indeed BS. Bridging, to feed a load from more than one amplifier channel, cannot be achieved in that way. You also cannot drive woofers from the tiny OE speaker cables that are invariably fitted to vehicle speakers. The only way to do this decently is with a supplementary amp.
