Nice to know the 16v engine can do those sort of miles, there are lots of high mileage 8 valve engines but not seen one of those at that mileage.

not sure where you have found such low mileages , 360 000miles is jsut about right number for diesel such year.

here in Lithuania (and Poland) most cars have 180 000km on clock. no matter its 3years old or 10years old. in 2012 autumn i bought c4 2 doors coupe 1.6hdi which was only 3years old(2009 11). it had 195 000 on clock and was registered as comercial car (two seats) later i have founded it was actualy 400 000km and all this was done in 3 years!
my current c5 x7 are petrol 2009 10 and it have 300 000km(most of those miles are from highway) - this very reasonable mileage for 6 year old car and very reasonable for the diesel. there are few cars which have very low mileage and i would avoid them- they wered riveen very short distances in town or not used frequently (not sure which is worse)

needless to say my c5 x7 with 300 000 on clock drives perfectly -no signs of clutch or gear shifting problems, even front disc are reasonable warn and not changed- virgin ones. 500 000km for highway car is perfectly fine if you change oils at 10 000km( not 30 000km as citroen says) and wheel bearings can be needed to change but that basicaly all. car breaks/worns out for diferent reasons and most of this reasons are not long mileages with normal speeds on highways.

MMM, obviously the UK is very different.........when I traded my 3 1/2 year old C4 (B7) 1.6 eHdi Exclusive last year to buy my C5 I was told it was high mileage - 45,700!! and that is why I had to haggle to get £6500 for it ! Should have taken it to Poland or Lithuania, as it probably would have been classed as delivery mileage only?? :rofl2:

47000 miles (if servised good at needed intervals) is just warm up for the car . my post were a bit with sarcasm.
clasical example c5 1.6 hdi 2008 car in germany have originaly 480 000km on clock, then had minor accident- owner counts its not worht to fix-broughts to some car shop where some turkish man swings clock down to 350 000 and sells for polish or lithuanians ressellers, then they bring car here, swings clock second time for <250 000km and sels to peopel who repairs car- they repair it and swings clock third tme to ~150 000 or less (if less they change pedals, wheel steering ant other things which can show that car saw quite a lot usage) and sells here to customer. everybody happy.

When we replaced the head* on our BX19RD, I inspected the bores. At 177,000 miles (283,000 km) there was no wear, no discernible top lip. The car had been run on Duckhams Q 20W-50, changed every 6000mi (10000km).

Mechanics I know would never dream of taking their oil change intervals to some of those being marketed these days.

*Old head went though two head gaskets, before eventual replacement with new. Fitted a header/expansion tank, and problems of coolant level never recurred.

Autotrader is a little bit of a fantasy when it comes to real world prices. It said my 2005 C4 VTS was worth £500 .. WBAC said £270!

I sold it for £1500.

But you have to return from the Moon (can't leave the car there, since you won't be able to sell it) ... that's at least 768000km then ... :D

Notes:
It's a petrol engine,
There are no petrol stations on the moon
The c5, if it's tank holds enough to get to the moon , once there would be stranded and so wouldn't be on ebay.
Please Dont be silly.

With those miles it's almost returned from the moon or at least now caught by gravity to eventually Coke back down :D

I offered them £1500 just to test the water and as that's all I would risk on a car like that, especially without interior pics and sight unseen as I could take it falling to bits on the way home for that and not cry about it. The leather alone is in demand for tourers, as are nav bits and then the rest of the car would just be stripped and sent off for crushing.

if the seats and door trims are leather(or even front panel and gear s**t concole in leather) all this with wheels already costs no less than 700pounds. add nearly 100 pounds for exclusive chromes, at least 500 puonds for front bonnet, back bonnet , and both bumpers . lamps is at least 100punds all 6psc. and you still have a car wotking car (if you dont mind drive with home chair and in daylight)
its great price. if it would be normal car (salloon) and without manufacturing defect( steering wheel put in wronf side) i would buy it with no question asking. even if it will not work.
