Does anyone installed a RaceChip piggy box on a car with THP engine ? Does it make any difference ?

They are generally not liked from what I have seen. As such I cannot think of many people installing them as they are regarded as a poor solution (if they work at all)

Are all the external piggy back boxes useless ? If not can anyone point on a box that does make a difference performance wise ?

Haven't a clue about the piggyback box, we remapped our 207 GTi with the THP engine properly, had it on the rolling road whilst it was mapped and it went from 175bhp to circa 205bhp.

I have a friend with C4 ( 2013 ) exclusive that originally has 156 bhp. He remapped it and it went from 156 to 205bhp. The problem was that on fast acceleration the turbo was suspended because of the developed heat. He was told to replace the intercooler with a bigger one so the extra heat can handled . He didn't do it and remapped to the original setting. Did you experience this problem ? Or it may be that the 207 GTI is originally fitted with a larger intercooler

Since we've had everything sorted we've had no problems with it.

The turbo on ours was getting very hot before the timing chain issue was sorted and the decoking was carried out. After that it's been fantastic and pulls like a train in all gears.
