Ongoing problems with my '99 Xantia heater blower has revealed a poor 12v feed to the motor - I have read all (i think) the threads around the subject, can someone confirm will I have a relay or is it likley to be directly from the ignition switch ?. On removing the upper& lower steering covers I can see three pairs of heavy cables coming from the switch, (3 red,2 orange + 1 yellow) which would suggest no relay ???
Does the switch replacement definately require the steering wheel removal ?

Donno if the later series ('98 on) Xantia had a relay incorporated to protect the ignition switch.
The first series definately do not have a relay - burning out part of the ignition switch contact sets.
I think you have to remove the steering wheel to gain access for removal of the cowling under - and then access the ignition switch.
