['96 Synergie XUD] My immobiliser keypad is disconnected, and I don't know the code. Can I safely remove my battery?

Post by kenbw2 »

When I bought my 1996 XUD Synergie, the previous owner said the immobiliser keypad itself was on its way out. So to avoid a problem where the immobiliser kicked in, but they keys didn't work, he unplugged the keypad.

He told me that if ever I removed the battery though, I'd have to reconnect the keypad and type in the code.

Problem is, I don't have the code.

Is it true that I can't remove the battery without the immobiliser kicking in?

Any way around this?

I honestly don't know. I did see a gizmo that you plug into the cig lighter which sends 12v into the car so you don't loose radio code, could maybe work the same.

You can remove the keypad in the Xantia.....BUT I do no know about the Synergie.

I will let the "experts" tell you how just in case I make an error

The keypad is already removed. It's the battery I'm concerned about removing, in case it triggers the immobiliser and I can't type in the code to reset it

With the Xantia as I understand it, you can once the keypad has been removed correctly, take off the battery......but as said.....please check first.
