c5 suspension woes

Post by aeroboy64 »

This is my first post and sorry to jump straight in with a problem,The car in question is a 2008 c5x7 2.0hdi auto exclusive with 66k miles.
Have just had car in at main dealer with suspension height problem which was not resolved (they wanted £1000 for new pump motor!long story)
But as pump now working and front and rear body height sensors fitted i'm getting the suspension fault error on dash and car still seems a bit harsh?
I will gladly pay for someone with LEXIA to get the codes for me.
thanks in advance for suggestions.

I have to ask this - as not too sure from your post - did Citroen main dealers replace the height correctors? Does the car raise and lower correctly throughout the different positions when using the manual switch?

Yes the height sensors have been replaced last march as was carried out by main dealer, the car rises and lowers correctly but i still get the error message on dash.

The reason I asked is that there has to be some calibration done when replacing these - have you not taken it back for them to resolve if the issue is still there?

I thought that fine tuning needed lexia but when the sensors were fitted reset geometry and ecu programming was carried out all the the small fee of £464........i'm pretty sure all i need is someone with a lexia to fine tune it and as i said previous am happy to pay and travel.

Yes, they do need the lexia to calibrate them - but if you are still getting an error - they should do this for you for free as you've paid for the work to be done. There's nothing else to be done on the lexia short of the calibration of the height correctors - which is what you've indicated they have done already.

Is there a reputable mechanic who knows their way around x7 suspension that is based near lincolnshire?

Here's a post containing members with diagnostic kits - and in the first post - there is a map link, showing locations on a google map. They may not be suspension experts - but you will need a Lexia to ascertain what the issue is - there's very little that can be done without interrogating the system for a cause or suspect. Once you have the results, more members may be able to assist.

New to Citroen's, new to the X7, new to the Hrdro-Active +3, New to the Lexia ?........best of luck

Lexia on a X7 only adjusts a VERY minimal amount.....fine tuning is all you can do. The measurements and procedure for setting up a HydroActive |+3 car correctly is quite complicated.

Thanks for the info and as another member suggested i would be better prepared to get the fault codes first then discuss the issue with them,as free time is not something i have much of being self employed and at the moment the car is driveable (not comfy) and i would'nt want to put pressure on pleiades for a quick turnaround.
