Laguna 2 new gearknob cover fitted reverse stuck

Hi guys I changed my laguna 2 6 speed gearknob cover with the lift reverse button everytime I put in 1st it's in reverse the button is stiff when I refitted the gearknob HELP!!!
It goes in reverse without lifting now :(
