Hi this question relates to the mk1 C5, can anyone tell me the mechanical difference between the hm3 and hm3+ ?
I've read that the HM3+ has different comfort shpere's or something to that effect. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks!

Don't leave home without your "SPROTS"Stickyfinger wrote:Selectable "Sprots" mode
In a nutshell: On the earlier Mk1 C5s the Hydractive 3 system had variable ride height that was automatically raised or lowered slightly according to road surface, speed and driving conditions. The Hydractive 3+ system reserved for the higher spec. models offered a 'Sport' mode setting that the driver could manually activate.
On the Hydractive 3+ systems there was an additional sphere on each of the axles and a stiffness regulator. Whilst 'Sport' mode is in effect (either manually or automatically) the system and the stiffness regulator cuts out the additional third sphere on each axle and re-energises these when it switches back to 'comfort' mode. When the 'Sport' mode is selected manually by the driver, the system maintains the 'sport' settings more frequently than normal. Here's a video on the Mk1 Hydractive 3+ (in French, but you'll get the idea).
On the X7 there are 7 active spheres in comfort mode and 4 in sport mode. - Here's an explanation:

I can confirm that. I had a 2.2 with hydractive suspension but the fuel consumption was dreadful so I got a 2.0. but although I have fitted new spheres and rear suspension bearings it still doesn't ride as well as the 2.2 did and certainly not as well as the XM.
