Xantia Throttle Stepper Motor

Post by PeterMann »

Have removed the black Marelli 4 wire device from next to the throttle assembly, thinking it would probably be the stepper motor (which presumeably is seized, if the way she starts is an indication . . . cough, cough, cough, cough sputter, sputter for about a minute).
Is this in fact the stepper motor, or am I about to violate some arcane piece of electrical wizardry ? It has a keyed shaft, shielded by a sprung sleeve, and a tapered end.
Was Going to soak and rinse it with petroleum ether, then lubricate with silicone oil.
