Post by gazzas c5 »

Hi guys just bought a C5 1.6 Hdi 54 plate
Clutch nd flywheel needs replaced
Is it better fitting a solid conversion than dual mass?
How much u guys paid to get it replaced?
Looked up euro car parts said the solid flywheel conversion kit includes clutch kit??
Cheers any info be appreciated.

people differ on this one some say go for solid conversion and others say the drive will not be as smooth. IME Citroens do not suffer premature DMF failure like Vauxhalls and Fords so i would not hurt to replace the DMF - should be good for another 100k+

DMF removed you can deafenatly feel a lot more vibration in the cabin, mainly on the clutch pedal etc.. Im useing a 1.6 hdi c5 now, its had a clutch and DMF at 100k and so far at 55k still feels very good to me...

I fitted a conversion kit in a Peugeot 206 1.6 hdi last week.
The kit seemed to work very well tbh, nice & smooth. Only used the kit due to the customers request because it was a lot cheaper than fitting the proper dual mass.
