Part number/name/price help?

Unread post by neil123 »

Hi

Xantia HDi 110 estate, Forte spec, so not active or anything out of the ordinary.

Major fluid leak from the pipe which leaves the accumulator sphere - appears to be a metal and flexi pipe.

Could someone with the necessary knowledge/access tell me whether still available, and part number and price if possible - or if its nfs/nla, other suggestions for a fix? Its the metal bend which has split.

Thanks in anticipation!

Not sure to be honest - my mechanic fella rang to tell me the diagnosis and said the main pipe from the accumulator...feeds everything. Does that make sense? I'm not very familiar with the system. Do I need to ask him for more details? The leak seems to be at the extreme nearside front, if that helps?

Thanks

Sounds like it's the PAS feed pipe that runs from the pump the to rack - via the wrong side of the engine bay! They always go in the nearside wheel arch. Pipe is no longer available. Pleadies can make up a repair piece, or there was a guy advertising replacements on here: http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... =7&t=49073

Yes Richard - spot on diagnosis, it is the power steering pipe you mention.

Does anyone know whether the pipe Mardybum was offering is still available? Tried his website but no reply so far.

I will try a PM on here...

Thanks all

Sorted, finally. The guy posting on here as mardybum still does the repair kit for £50 delivered incl the CuNiFer bit and I would recommend him, the stuff he supplies looks good in the pictures he sent me. Ultimately however because they're here and I could collect, I had a pipe made up by Autopipe at Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate. Tel 0191 258 8932. Old fashioned workshop, he reckons if it has oil/brake fluid/ATF/Air/Vacuum/LHM in it, he can copy it. Metal, flexis. crimped connectors, flares, the lot. I'd be surprised if he was ever stumped, and he makes them while you wait. The whole pipe cost me 58 quid, because I wanted an additional flared joint put in where the old pipe was cut to take it off - it makes refitting a LOT easier. Hope this might help somebody, sometime! He has no website, but is findable on Thomson local via Google or on Facebook as Autopipe. His phone number may well change in a month or so, as he's moving to a cheaper unit nearby in Wallsend, so may be better to Google him.
