'07 C5 rear discs - same as X7?

Post by Johnno »

Hi, I'm scrapping my '07 estate (sniff) and the rear discs have effectively done zero miles since replacement. Can someone tell me if these discs are the same as on a '59 saloon??

Ta, John.

if the 2007 one is a late mk2 then no unfortunately, the x7 has a completely different rear brake arrangement.

if they're both X7's then yes

Thanks for the replies guys. It's a MkII model, so presumably not compatible. It's not a big deal, just seems a shame to throw more money away.

As to what happened to it? Nothing major by itself, but it needs work to bring it up to acceptable standard and I don't have the time to do it. It's not worth paying someone else (I've already spent a significant amount of fruitless money chasing a rough running / stalling problem, which I'm now 99.9% sure is down to the HP fuel filter - doh!). The engine / transmission are excellent - even better, I think, than in the younger model I have. The off-side rear took a clout from a turning lorry a while back, the tailgate window doesn't open, there's a leak in the tailgate seal, the aircon needs re-gassing at least, the hydractive system has stopped working, it needs work for an MOT, including tyres all-round, the steering system has always been less than smooth and is getting worse - see where I'm going with this? There's the de-pollution fault and then tax and insurance are due.

All in all, I feel I ought to make the effort, but sometimes you just have to cut your losses!

I'll really miss the space, comfort and load-carrying (should have it's own postcode!) and I even rather like the looks - certainly better than the saloon.

John.
