clutch bleed

Any tips on bleeding the clutch line. When I bleed by getting someone to depress the clutch pedal to the floor and then open bleed to allow fluid and any air out, then close bleed and release pedal in that order. I do this several times fluid comes out but strangely level doesn't drop in reservoir??

On my 2009 'X7' C5, when I replaced the clutch and had to bleed the system the only thing that really worked (perhaps because the front of the car was up on stands and there was an airlock in the system somewhere) was to 'back bleed' the system. That is, connect the clutch bleed screw up to the brake bleed screw, then pump the fluid through using the brake. Worked a treat!

I open bleed nipple, get someone to pump the pedal 3 or 4 times stopping with the pedal down, I then close the bleed nipple after which the pedal can be returned to the up position. Check reservoir, top up and repeat.

Or use an easibleed.

When back bleeding i'm assuming you see any trapped air coming back up into the fluid reservoir?
